Cast by Light

Cast by Light is an award winning 2D single player puzzle platformer game played on arcade, PC & mobile created by our team of six people.

Below, I have listed some of my responsibilities throughout the project as one of the team’s two programmers.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow / Sun mechanic

    • Custom Mesh Generation.

    • Working with shaders. (Some unfortunately didn’t make it into the game)

  • Created all the different platforms and their types

    • Glass, light-sensitive, pressure plates/buttons and regular.

    • Stationary, moving and/or easing, rotating, platforms that played particle effects or a combination of these.

  • Since I was the creator of the different platforms I was given the responsibility to help our designer and project manager with level creation in Unity.

  • Tools programming, extending / customizing GUI.

    • Simplify scripts to only show required / wanted information based on needs.

    • Indicating where and how the platforms would move.

  • Safe zones / checkpoints

  • Bore the sole responsibility of the creation of the mobile version.

  • Programmed and set up arcade input.

  • Helped with animation / animation states and player controller.

  • Game Design.

  • Level Design.

  • Play-tester / Quality control.
